Knowledge Of The Drip (Feat. Kamaria Sarai)

by Frank Knight & Chuck LaWayne

/

about

Knowledge of The Drip is the first single off the new Frank Knight collaborative project with producer Chuck LaWayne entitled "Slim & Mickens". This song features the talented sultry voice of Kamaria Sarai singing smooth melodic tones throughout the chorus of the record. This song represents the introduction to "Slim & Mickens" in supreme fashion, by providing that classic emcee and producer collaboration reminiscent of a Gangstarr, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Eric B. & Rakim, Kool G. Rap & DJ Polo, EPMD and etc.

Frank Knight & Chuck LaWayne however stand on their own unique platform making a staple in the very well needed Hip-Hop community. As we say goodbye to the summer, that felt very different in comparison to previous summers due to the pandemic, they somehow managed to give us the visualization of a true fun summertime feel in a year that was far from normal.

lyrics

[Verse 1: Frank Knight]

You see I sat in room as the main "Top Billa"
While thoughts flooded my mind you gotta cop scrilla
Now for 20 odd years, I been in the same spot
Sunlight consumed by the pain of rain drops
Mad rhymers sitting in a rented pathfinder
Over here trying to make this fame path find us
Circling my neighborhood, we far from the greater good
Where most wanna to take the hood, just to rape the hood
Searching for a signal like loss ships for a lighthouse
All I find is lies, like what lys in the WhiteHouse
Backstabbers riding in the backseat, with knives out
Guess this what tend to happen when you taking the live route
So much to cry 'bout, it's too late cry now
Why should I frown, if the pain never die down
My cousin on lockdown, his letters on the hold
Losing his youth, it's getting severed in the hole
Pardon my aggression I just want to forever glow
If you ain’t loyal then my hustle you will never know
Clearly you could see this ain’t for the gram or the vine
This for opportunity not for the fame of the grind
And I ain’t wasting minutes my whole mission is winning
I lived in darkness like Riddick y’all slaves I ain’t with it
Can’t master me I’m master p no limit
Actually you ain’t half of me I’m too gifted

[Hook: Kamaria Sarai]

Yeah y’all know me forty on the hip
With the drip like Goldie
Awe yeah
Yeah y’all know me forty on the hip
With the drip like Goldie
Awe yeah
Yeah y’all know me forty on the hip
With the drip like Goldie
Awe yeah
Yeah y’all know me forty on the hip
With the drip like Goldie

[Verse 2: Chuck LaWayne]

Slim and Mickens like the 2020 Gangstarr
Starring Frank and Uncle Charlie yeah I used to probably
Poli with your moms back when she was young with the joint
Point being this pimp been laying it for calendars
Back when I ain’t have rule set nor parameters
Chuck was a ball playing philanderer
With grammar that could sweep her out the soles of her pumps
Them cherry red Ginas’ had em up in the air
thoughts from my wicker chair aww yeah

[Hook: Kamaria Sarai]

Yeah y’all know me forty on the hip
With the drip like Goldie
Awe yeah
Yeah y’all know me forty on the hip
With the drip like Goldie
Awe yeah
Yeah y’all know me forty on the hip
With the drip like Goldie
Awe yeah
Yeah y’all know me forty on the hip
With the drip like Goldie
